Volunteer at the U16 National Championships at Rutledge Field, West Vancouver, July 23-27!
We're looking for volunteer Field Crew and Ball Chasers to assist us at the U16 National Championships in West Vancouver. Field Crew will help with set up and take down on July 22nd and 27th at the venue, and should be able to lift moderate weighted equipment as needed. Learn to Train Festival July 4-6 in West Vancouver
180 Learn to Train athletes took over Rutledge Field at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver over the weekend for the 2014 Learn to Train festival. We would like to thank all athletes, parents, umpires, and coaches for such a fun weekend! A special thank-you to Thea Culley, Women's National team player, who opened the festival, and to the parent volunteers who helped us with set-up and take-down. 

BC will be well represented at the Commonwealth Games!
Field Hockey Canada has officially announced the 16 women and 16 men that will be representing Canada at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. 12 on the women's squad and 14 on the men's squad will also be representing British Columbia. We would like to congratulate all the athletes and wish them the best of luck at the Games! 

Samantha McIlwrick featured in The Province's 2014 Head of the Class
Every year, The Province profiles outstanding high school athletes in their annual Head of the Class. This year, Team BC and Tri-City Eagles field hockey player, Samantha McIlwrick, has been featured in the 2014 edition. Samantha is recognized for her leadership on and off the field and for her dedication to her community. Her goal for this summer is to make the Canadian Junior National team before heading to Cornell University in the fall to play NCAA Division 1 field hockey. FHBC Train to Train U15 Club Championships
On behalf of all those involved with the 36 teams who enjoyed a full weekend of Club Championship hockey at the Boys and Girls Train to Train Club Championships at U-Vic and Ambleside Park, a huge thank you to those volunteers from Field Hockey Victoria and West Vancouver FHC who played an essential part in the successful hosting of each respective event. 

FHBC Train to Compete Club Championships
On behalf of FHBC and all those supporting and playing with the 18 teams involved, a huge thank you to India FHC for assisting FHBC in the hosting of the Division 1 Train to Compete U18 Club Championships at Tamanawis Park, and to Delta Falcons FHC for hosting the Girls Division 2 Championship at Winskill AT! In the Girls Division 1, India Club took first place followed by Delta Storm in second, and Vancouver Red Hawks in third. In Division 2, Tri-City Chaos defeated Burnaby Explosion for first place, with Delta Falcons STIX in third. On the Boys side, United Brothers finished in first, Burnaby Lakers in second, and India Club in third. 

FHBC Learn to Train Club Festivals
A huge thank you to those club volunteers from Vancouver Hawks FHC and Burnaby FHC for taking the hosting lead for the 2014 Learn to Train Club Festivals. Every indication is that our athletes enjoyed a fantastic weekend of Hockey 5's and this would not be possible without the dedication of volunteers within our club community. Our sincere thanks on behalf of all those supporting and representing the 56 teams on show! 

Kelowna Lake and Bake Mixed Hockey Tournament - August 2 & 3!
The Okanagan Valley Field Hockey Association is hosting the Kelowna Lake and Bake mixed seven a side field hockey tournament over the August Long Weekend, August 2nd & 3rd!
