Boys T2T and T2C Regional Programs
Registration for the boys Train to Train (2000-2002) and Train to Compete (1997-1999) Regional Programs will be launched the week of August 18. Please stay tuned for more information, training will begin mid September. 

Girls T2T and T2C Regional Programs
Registration for the Girls Train to Train (2000-2002) and Train to Compete (1997-1999) Regional Programs will be launched in September (October for the Interior). Please stay tuned for more information. 

BC earns Gold, Bronze and a 4th place finish at the U18 National Championships!
Congratulations to our three BC teams who competed in this year's U18 National Championships, August 7-10, in Calgary, AB. For full tournament results please visit the Field Hockey Canada website. 

Canadian men finish in 6th place at Commonwealth Games
The Canadian men faced a lot of tough competition at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, where they ultimately finished in 6th place, matching the best finish ever at a Commonwealth competition (6th in Melbourne in 2006). After a disappointing loss to Malaysia, Canada defeated Trinidad and Tobago before heading into their final match against South Africa. With a 2-2 tie at half-time, South Africa came out strong in the second half scoring a few more goals and securing their 5th place finish over Canada. For full results read more ...

David Jameson earns 200th cap at Commonwealth Games
Congratulations to British Columbia's very own, David Jameson, on earning his 200th cap at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and becoming one of only 11 Canadian field hockey players to ever play 200 games for Canada! "I got into it because my mom played for Canada back in the seventies," says Jameson, who grew up playing with the Vancouver Hawks Field Hockey Club. "All of my siblings got into it pretty easily". Jameson played for BC at National Championships before going on to play for Team Canada. read more ...

Canada Women gain valuable experience at Glasgow 2014
The Canadian Women's National team continue to grow and learn from every international competition, and the Commonwealth Games were no different. Canada came out strong in their first game against India, but were unable to secure the win. They went on the play a close match against South Africa, and earn their first win of the Games against Trinidad and Tobago before coming up short against the strong New Zealand team who ultimately won the Bronze medal. In the end, Canada finished in 8th place after a loss in shootouts to Malaysia. read more ...

BC earns double silver & double bronze at U16 National Championships!
Congratulations to our five Team BC teams who competed in this year's U16 National Championships, July 23-27, in West Vancouver, BC. Our BC teams displayed great strength, determination and friendship throughout the championship, earning them silver and bronze on both the men's and women's side (Ontario won gold). Learn to Train Festival July 4-6 in West Vancouver
180 Learn to Train athletes took over Rutledge Field at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver over the weekend for the 2014 Learn to Train festival. We would like to thank all athletes, parents, umpires, and coaches for such a fun weekend! A special thank-you to Thea Culley, Women's National team player, who opened the festival, and to the parent volunteers who helped us with set-up and take-down. 

Samantha McIlwrick featured in The Province's 2014 Head of the Class
Every year, The Province profiles outstanding high school athletes in their annual Head of the Class. This year, Team BC and Tri-City Eagles field hockey player, Samantha McIlwrick, has been featured in the 2014 edition. Samantha is recognized for her leadership on and off the field and for her dedication to her community. Her goal for this summer is to make the Canadian Junior National team before heading to Cornell University in the fall to play NCAA Division 1 field hockey.
