FHC names Junior Women's National Squad
Field Hockey Canada and head coach Nick Sandhu are pleased to announce the 24 athletes who have been named to the Junior Women's National training squad. The selection comes after 40 athletes participated in a national camp from August 10 - 14 in Vancouver, British Columbia. To read more about this, please click here.

Men's Regional Academy Program Announcement
Field Hockey BC's High Performance Program is pleased to announce the Men's Regional Academy Program. This 12 week Regional Performance Program is for male athletes born between 1995-1997. Once selected to the Regional Academy, athletes will have access to 45 hours of training and competition between September and November. Trials are scheduled, August 27-29, 2010.

BC wins 2 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze at U16 Nationals
Congratulations to our 4, medal-winning, BC Teams who competed at the U16 National Championships, held from July 21-25 in Mississauga, Ontario. On the men's side BC Blue defeated Ontario 8-0 in convincing fashion to claim the gold medal, while BC White took home the bronze with a solid 3-0 victory over Saskatchewan. On the women's side BC Blue edged BC White for the gold medal, with a 4-3 victory in Penalty Strokes after a 0-0 tie in regulation. Zone 4 Fraser River-Delta wins 2010 BC Summer Games
Congratulations to Zone 4 Fraser River-Delta who captured the gold medal in the 2010 BC Summer Games, with a penalty stroke victory over Zone 3 Fraser Valley. Earlier on, Zone 5 Vancouver Squamish defeated Zone 6 Island to claim the bronze medal, while Zone 1 Kootenays edged Zone 2 Okanagan in penalty strokes to claim fifth place. Congratulations to all participants for a hard fought competition, and a big thank you to all of our officials and volunteers for helping to make this tournament a success. Team BC Captures 3 Medals at 2010 Canada Cup
Team BC captured three medals at the 2010 Canada Cup hosted by Field Hockey Alberta. BC U18 Blue Men captured Gold over BC White Men in the final (2-0). BC White Women won the silver medal, falling to Ontario in the final (1-3). Jessica Bitz, Michelle Graham and Heather Haughn were named to the Women's Tournament XI. BC Members of the Men's Tournament XI were Gurteg Gill, Manvir Kingra, Akash Gill, Gordon Johnston, Ross Dutkiewicz, Spencer Curran and Andrew Kanerva. Congratulations to all athletes, coaches and managers!

BC U18 Teams at Canada Cup
This year's Canada Cup will take place from July 15-18 in Calgary, Alberta. BC will be well represented at the event, with 3 teams in attendance. On the men's side, BC U18 Blue and BC U18 White will take on Ontario and Alberta, while on the women's side, BC U18 White will tackle teams from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. 2010 Senior National Championships
The 2010 Senior National Championships were held at Vikes Field in Victoria, BC June 30th to July 4th. Many congratulations to all the Team BC squads (6) who performed admirably. Team BC captured the Men's Gold Medal in a tightly fought final over Ontario and Team BC 'Island' defeated Team Ontario to bring home the Women's Gold Medal. The official induction ceremonies of the 9 individuals and 1 team will take place on September 16th, 2010 at the Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion at the 42nd Annual Banquet of Champions.
