About Field Hockey BC (FHBC)

Field Hockey BC is the Provincial Sports Organization (PSO) responsible for supporting Field Hockey in the province of British Columbia. In partnership with the National body ‘Field Hockey Canada’ (FHC), Field Hockey BC provides opportunities for British Columbians to experience the challenges and rewards of the exciting sport of field hockey. Whether you are a player, official, coach, administrator or spectator, Field Hockey BC is committed to operating with integrity, openness and respect to ensure that our tradition of field hockey excellence is preserved in British Columbia and that our sport is open to people of all ages, skill levels and abilities.

Field Hockey BC Governance

Field Hockey BC employs three full-time and two part-time employees who oversee and manage the administrative responsibilities of the annual program. The Association is governed by a Board of Directors and all employees are responsible to this Board.

Field Hockey BC Staffing:

• Executive Director (full-time) – Responsible for the strategic direction and day to day management of the Association
• High Performance Program Director (full-time) – Responsible for the administration and management of the High Performance athlete program
• Provincial Development Coach (full-time) – Responsible for the development of Athletes and Coaches within the High Performance and Domestic Programs
• Accounts Manager (part-time) – Responsible for the management of the day to day accounts and audit preparation 
• Tournament Coordinator (part-time) - Responsible for the operational organization ahead of and during FHBC and FHC tournament championships
• Administrative Assistant (part-time) – Responsible for the management of the Association website and database and for additional administrative support where necessary
• Regional Head Coaches (2) (part-time) - Responsible for the delivery of support services to their respective regions (Vancouver Island/Okanagan Valley)

The Voice of Field Hockey BC – The Membership

FHBC holds its General Meeting in February each year. This meeting is the membership’s opportunity to help develop our strategic plan and ensure that the Association is moving the sport forward in a beneficial and progressive fashion for all.
