Field Hockey BC's Award Structure recognises athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers alike. The menu on the left hand side of this homepage and all subsequent awards pages will direct you to your chosen award section.
The Field Hockey BC Annual Awards recognise both individual performance and voluntary contribution. In addition to this, Field Hockey BC is proud to manage a number of legacy awards aimed at assisting participation and professional development. A brief summary of each of these legacy awards is presented below and each one can also be directly accessed from the left side menu.
Sport BC Annual Awards 2013
Presidents Award
In recognition of Sue's on-going support for field hockey and most significantly her lead in ensuring athletes have the best competitive environment possible, it is out pleasure to recognize Sue as the Sport BC's Presidents Awards recipient for 2013.
For many years, Sue coached and umpired at David Thompson Secondary School and for the Burnaby Ladies League, she also assisted in the organisation of the Vancouver Secondary Schools High School League and in the running of the Secondary School Tournaments. Over the last 12 years, Sue has been Technical Director for both AA and AAA girls high schools championships, she has been a technical Official for Field Hockey BC club championships, as well as, the Field Hockey BC high performance tournaments, and for both Senior and Junior National Championships. In fact, Sue has been part of the technical team and ever present for ALL Field Hockey BC High Performance events dating back to 2005.

Judy Broom Foundation Fund Athlete Assistant Award
The Judy Broom Foundation Fund Athlete Assistance Award is presented annually by Field Hockey BC to assist a female athlete or athletes who can show a need for financial assistance in order to access program development opportunities within the Field Hockey BC High Performance Program. It is awarded to an individual or individuals who have participated in the Field Hockey BC Regional High Performance Program and have been selected to represent BC as part of the Field Hockey BC High Performance Provincial Program. The Award is designed to contribute towards the cost of the summer Provincial Program. For more information please click here.
Moira Rerrie Bursary
The Moira Rerrie Bursary recognizes a female athlete who has played in high school and/or recognized Field Hockey league and to encourage them to continue to participate in Field Hockey. For more information please click here.
Jenny John Professional Development Award
The Jenny John Award is presented annually by the BC Women’s Field Hockey Federation and now Field Hockey BC for the promotion of technical excellence in women in sport. It is awarded to an individual who has a proven record in COACHING, UMPIRING, or JUDGING and who wishes to further her development in one of these technical areas.
