Program Announcements:
Training began the weekend of September 22nd on both the Island and Lower Mainland. Thank you to the athletes who are taking part, we hope you enjoy every minute!
Program Levy:
$195 per athlete.
Program Structure:
There are 4 regions in BC:

Interior (Okanagan & Kootenays)
-
Island (Victoria and MidIsland)
-
Northwest (Vancouver and Northshore)
-
Southeast (Burnaby, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, Delta, New Westminster, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, Abbotsford, etc.)
Program Schedules:
There will be no trials for the program this year. Training will start the weekend of Sepember 21st and will run weekly until the first weekend of November (exluding Thanksgiving). Please see your region below for schedule information. Updates will be posted here when they become available.
Island Region
Practices will be Friday evenings from 6:00pm-8:00pm at UVIC.
Sept.21, Sept.28, Oct.12, Oct.19, Oct.26, Nov.2
Northwest/Southeast Regions
Practices will be Sunday evenings at Hamber (Vancouver) from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Sept.23, Sept.30, Oct.14, Oct.21, Oct.28, Nov.4
Interior Region
Details will be determined if there is interest for a program. Please contact colleen@fieldhockeybc.com if you are interested and live in this region.
Program Focus:

Continue developing the fundamental movement skills (FMS)

Continue developing and refining the technical and tactical skills covered in the Learn to Train program
-
Introduce and develop the next level of challenging and advanced technical and tactical skills, in a systematic way
-
Develop a deep understanding of the various concepts, which govern the game, via mini hockey

Improve the game understanding of the players, via simplified mini games, specific to the theme and specific situation of the game

12 hours of on-field training with certified FHBC coaches
