Background

Field Hockey Canada is the National Governing Body for field hockey in Canada and is the direct supporting Association for National Team Development. Field Hockey Canada is based in Ottawa, Ontario.

Both the Senior National Men's and Senior National Women's Teams are based in Vancouver, BC.

Team training is centralised in BC at the National Training Centre at Wright Field on the grounds of the University of British Columbia.

The Senior National Coaching Staff and the National Performance Director are also based in Vancouver, BC.

Competitions

Subject to qualification, the Canadian National Teams compete at all major games:

Olympic Games
World Cup
Commonwealth Games
Pan American Games

World Ranking

The Mens Senior National Team is currently ranked 10th in the World.
The Womens Senior National Team is currently ranked 19th in the World.

BC Representation

75% of male athletes and 70% of female athletes currently representing the senior national squads are from the Province of British Columbia.

Canada to host Team India at Tamanawis Field, Surrey - Wednesday, April 29, 2009
Field Hockey Canada and the Indian Hockey Confederation are happy to announce a 5-match Test Series featuring the Canadian National Women’s field hockey team versus Team India. The tentative schedule of matches includes India facing Canada “A” on May 26th and May 27th.
